Philippians 4:4 NIV

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Sometimes when the world seems to be dishing out more than your plate can hold, it’s hard to remember to feel joy, let alone Rejoice!  But we need to remember what exactly it is we are rejoicing. I’m not rejoicing over that unexpected bill.  I’m not rejoicing over an illness, a job loss, a heartache.  I am, however, rejoicing over that this earth, full of evil, tears, and sadness, is not my true home. Jesus paid the mortgage on the mansion waiting for me.  For sure, I am looking forward to that day! But how does that help me in the trials of the now?  Rejoice that trials are temporary. Rejoice that Jesus walks through it all with you. Rejoice that you are seen, heard, and, most of all, very loved!
