463 Verses in the King James Version

“And it came to pass….”

Dr J. Vernon McGee told a story on his program, Thru the Bible, about a pastor in a church that asked his congregation for their favorite Bible verses. A man stood up and said, “And it came to pass,” and sat down. The confused pastor asked how that could be his favorite verse so the man continued, “Storms are going to come and when they do, I turn to the Bible for all the times it says, ‘And it came to pass.’ It helps me remember those storms won’t be sticking around, but will pass.” According to BibleGateway, this phrase occurs 463 times in the King James Version of the Bible. So indeed, we can rest assured when trouble seems to surround you, it will pass.
